MEET YOUR LOCAL TOUR GUIDE SIM CHANNA

Sim (Eorn Shin Channa) was born in Siem Reap Province in 1982 being the youngest of 7 boys.  At 16 years of age he became a Buddhist Monk in Siem Reap. There he learned Sanskrit and Balinese.  He spent 6 years in the monkhood studying the great Hindu and Buddhist teachings, their stories and history. 

 

As with most Cambodians, Sim taught himself English and has perfected it through working in the tourism industry.  He learned Spanish when living in an ex-pat Spanish household in Siem Reap.

 

Sim has a wealth of knowledge of the history, carvings and statues of the temples of Angkor. 

 

He is a licensed tour-guide with the Tourism Authority.

Stay one day or 5 in Siem Reap, the home of Angkor Wat.  Get the most out of your stay with Sim who can help you design day tours based on your interests and availability.  He can also take you to other places such as the National Museum, the War Museum, the Silk Farm and the floating villages on Tonle Sap, or perhaps visit a village and meet the villagers in Siem Reap Province.

 

Sim can arrange transport.  Tuk-tuks are fun and suitable for the closer temples around Siem Reap.  Airconditioned Taxis are recommended for travel to Bantay Srei and other outlying areas.

English Tour -US$25 per day (6-7 hours) up to 10 people (+US$5 for sunrise tour of Angkor Wat)

Spanish Tour - US$35 per day (6-7 hours) up to 10 people (+US$5 for sunrise tour of Angkor Wat)

Surcharge: +US$5 per distant site:  Kbal Spean, Bantay Srei, Beng Melea, Kulen Mountain, Sunset at Tonle Sap, Roulos Group.

Other costs:  you will pay for all your own entry fees, transport (Sim will travel with you) and meals during the tour.

Payable: directly to Sim daily in cash - sorry no eft or credit which is standard for just about everything in Siem Reap - there are loads of ATM's.

Logistics:  Sim will arrive at your accommodation to accompany you for the day at a pre-arranged time.  As it gets hot in Siem Reap you will be wise to start early and arrive back at your accommodation in the early afternoon.
